A charming escape in the city

Waking up each morning, we enjoyed watching the bustling street below from our lovely balcony. The hotel’s unique character and history added so much to our stay.

However, the noise during the late evening hours was quite disruptive despite the thick windows. It’s expected in such a lively area, but it did make sleep difficult.

Beautiful property with a great location in the Gothic Quarter. Our family room was spacious with hardwood floors, a kitchenette that had a microwave and fridge, and a comfy sofa. The bathroom was luxurious, featuring a rain shower and nice toiletries. Air conditioning kept us cool, and the rooftop pool provided stunning views. The friendly staff made sure we felt at home and helped with local recommendations.

I stayed for 2 nights in a Superior Double Room. Unfortunately, there was a persistent bad smell in the bathroom that staff failed to resolve despite multiple complaints. On our second stay, we were offered a room change late at night, which was frustrating, especially as no apologies or discounts were provided for the trouble. It significantly impacted the comfort and quality of our stay.

This was a suitable option for a weekend jaunt in Barcelona with great value. The historical building is beautifully renovated and well-maintained. If you can, choose a higher floor to avoid street noise.

Dining in the area was a culinary adventure! Just a stroll away, I found palosanto, a gem for tapas lovers, and Bodega Biarritz, perfect for an evening of wine and nibbles. Plus, the room itself was fantastic with a nifty kitchenette! Our family room was spacious enough, and the rooftop pool was quite the relaxation spot after a day of exploring.

Now, I did have a bit of a noise saga at first—the windows weren't the best at blocking out those plaza party vibes. But moving to the fourth floor made it all good, proving that even the small bumps can't dim Barcelona's shine.

Loved the location of Aparthotel Arai in the Gothic Quarter. The room, a Superior Double Room, offered plenty of space with a great layout. The modern amenities made it comfortable. Enjoyed the view from the room and the quietness despite being in a lively area. Staff were incredibly attentive and helped with all our requests. However, the noise from the square outside was a bit distracting in the early mornings. The bathroom lighting felt a bit dim, making it tough to see clearly when getting ready. The thin toilet paper could use an upgrade. Appreciated the cleanliness of the place, along with the spacious refrigerator and cooking facilities. Overall, the experience was great, but a few tweaks would enhance the stay further.
